- (1888PressRelease) October 18, 2013 - Peter Openshaw, Director of the Centre for Respiratory Infection (CRI) at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College, UK, Professor of Experimental Medicine, and Honorary Physician in the Department of Respiratory Medicine at the St Mary's Campus of the Imperial College NHS Trust, will give a presentation at the Inaugural Innate Immunity Conference, January 29-31, 2014 in San Diego, CA.
Dr. Openshaw's research is on the immunology of the lung, viral lung disease, vaccination and immunopathogenesis of viral disease. He was among the first 100 elected Fellows of the Academy of Medical Sciences (1999), and in 2006 he became a member of British Society for Immunology's Council.
Dr. Openshaw was awarded the Chanock Award in 2012 for lifetime contribution to RSV research in Santa Fe, New Mexico and delivered the Croonian lecture at the Royal College of Physicians in February 2013 on the topic of influenza pandemics.
The Inaugural Innate Immunity Conference brings together a mix of academic and industry authoritative experts from leading affiliations (such as the Mt.
