Pet Fed, India's first Pet Convention comes to Kolkata
Pet Fed would engulf the animal lovers in the city of joy on 28th February & 1st March 2015 at Science City. It is a unique event for pets and pet lovers, organised to share, celebrate and propagate the love and passion for animals. The convention aims to raise awareness for stray animals in an entertaining yet informative manner.
- (1888PressRelease) February 07, 2015 - Pet Fed, India's first of its kind and largest pet convention is being held in Kolkata on 28th February & 1st March at Science City grounds. The event brings together pets and pet parents to have fun, explore and indulge in various exciting activities while being educated on animal welfare and pet care.
Pet Fed was held for the first time in New Delhi at Dilli Haat INA on 1st November which saw a footfall of more than 10500 animal lovers. It was graced by Union Cabinet Minister Smt. Maneka Gandhi and leading animal activists like Ms. Ambika Shukla and a number of NGOs like SPCA, People For Animals, ACS, etc. Adoption of more than 200 stray dogs was facilitated and an amount more than INR 50,000 was raised and donated to the NGOs. After a spectacular debut in New Delhi, Pet Fed aims to take people in the city of joy into the magical world of pets!
Pet Fed Kolkata would be a two day event (this time) with many more exhilarating and fun-filled activities such as pet fashion show, puppy therapy, pupcake baking competition, pet café, pet games like obstacle course, scooby-doo mystery and much more! It would provide an exclusive experience for pet owners by offering their pets free vet check-ups, nutritional and behavioural advice, and an access to the best of grooming sessions and a shopping paradise.
The first day would include army/police dog parade- a chance to express our gratitude towards the heroes for protecting us. The event would also aim at promoting pet-adoption at the same time raising awareness about ill-treatment of stray animals.
Eminent personality like Debasree Roy, Mumtaz Sorcar, RJ Niel and robust animal welfare initiative like Pandit Ravi Kichlu Foundation's Maaya are also being part of the event.
Pet fed is already campaigning in Kolkata schools and colleges, a step to create cognizance amongst the youth to come forward for the welfare of animals through animal themed painting, poetry, photography, music competitions and seminars for children about approaching strays.
