PES College of Engineering Joins IEEE Computer Society as Registered Education Provider
PES College of Engineering (PESCE) has joined IEEE Computer Society as a Registered Education Provider, offering IEEE Computer Society software development preparation and training products to its students in Karnataka, India.
- Cincinnati, OH-KY-IN (1888PressRelease) November 12, 2013 - Based in Mandya, PESCE will offer IEEE Computer Society's SWEBOK Certificate Program (SCP) credentials to its students.

PESCE was established in 1962 by the People's Education Society and philanthropic farmers to provide education for rural students. The institution has offered Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering study since its formation. PESCE added Electronics and Communication programs in 1971, Automobile and Industrial Engineering in 1980, Computer Science and Engineering in 1983, Environmental Engineering in 1987, and Information Science and Engineering in 2000.
The institute also offers postgraduate courses in Environmental Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Computer-Aided Design, Computer Science and Engineering, and Land and Water Management.
The SCP, consisting of four learning modules with 25 hours of instruction each, was created to raise a university student's understanding and proficiency of the 15 Knowledge Areas in the Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK), which provides the basis for IEEE Computer Society software development certifications.
Each completed module will result in a certificate. By completing the four modules, a student will have a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle. This will give students an excellent foundation as they embark on a career in software development, and provide a stepping stone to the CSDA certification.

PES College of Engineering, Mandya, is one of the pioneer engineering colleges in India. Presently it is affiliated with the Visvesvaraya Technological University and is recognized by the All India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi.
