Performance Motorsports Marketing Joins Forces with Scorpion Radio Group
Performance Motorsports Marketing (PMM) has joined forces with the Scorpion Radio Group (SRG) of Waynesboro, PA and Nashville, TN in launching the Performance Motorsports Network (PMN).
- (1888PressRelease) February 21, 2012 - This move coincides with the beginning of the 11th season of broadcasting of PMM's premier product-IN THE PITS-racing radio©. IN THE PITS began regular on-air radio broadcasting on February 21, 2001. ITP focus is on the coverage of racing-worldwide. "IN THE PITS has enjoyed great success throughout its 550+ episodes," stated PMM President Larry O'Donohue. "The ITP show started with Craig Murto, editor and publisher of Late Model Racer Magazine and syndicated columnist. We soon added Dave Reininger, senior editor of Motorsport.com and veteran INDY Car spotter. Later came Dirt and NASCAR Late model racer Jason "The Juice" Smith as well as drag racing hall of famer Johnny Rocca". The show now benefits from the efforts of over 15 journalists and contributors.
Scorpion Radio Group is the brain trust of veteran on-air personalities Bob Steele and Captain Jack Aponte. Bob has been on the air in the mid-Atlantic region for more than 35 years. He and Jack recognized the potential and opportunity that "streaming" audio now provides. SRG launched the Nashville -based flagship station of the company, Renegade Radio Nashville (Hot, contemporary album- related country music) 6 months ago. SRG currently features a variety of formats and streaming on-line radio stations.
Steele, a veteran SCCA sports car racer, first met O'Donohue 10 years ago. When time is available in his schedule, Bob sits in with The Pit Crew" as a road racing correspondent to IN THE PITS. Steele said "We are very excited to be able to work in partnership with Larry and PMM. We believe strongly in the future of the Streaming Internet platform and in the importance of Social Media to the Motorsports Community"
The network will be adding content immediately and it is anticipated that it will become a 24-7 Motorsports News outlet over the next three months. This projected growth is expected to ensure that the PMN will be one of the largest internet motorsports streaming venues on the internet.
Plans to add video content are also in the works.
