Perfection Architectural Systems, Inc. Has Been Awarded a Contract to Provide Aluminum Sunshades for FAU Residence Hall

(http://www.perfectionarch.com/), a recognized leader in engineered aluminum canopy solutions, is pleased to announce that they have been awarded a contract to supply aluminum sunshades for the windows on Florida Atlantic University's new residence hall on their main campus in Boca Raton, Florida.

The aluminum sunshades are part of FAU's $31 million project to build new freshmen student housing to accommodate the school's growing population. The new FAU Residence Hall will be a seven story building with 600 beds, a dining hall, laundry facilities, study rooms, student lounges, conference rooms, classrooms, an activity room, a computer laboratory, a fitness room, and more.

Aluminum sunshades will be used to help make the building more energy efficient. FAU plans to achieve an LEED silver certification level on the project. The sunshades provided by Perfection Architectural Systems will help FAU to achieve the LEED silver by optimizing the energy performance in the windows, improving interior lighting, reducing the glare for building occupants, and using 60% recycled content in the aluminum.

To complete the project, Perfection Architectural Systems has teamed up with two of their valued customers, Balfour-Beatty and James A. Cummings, as the construction managers on the project. Construction for the FAU Residence Hall began in June and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2013.
