The Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation’s (PCRF) signature event, Reaching for the Cure, returns for its 27th year, bringing together runners, walkers, and families in the fight against pediatric cancer. This year’s event has exciting race options, including a 10K Run, 5K Run, 5K Walk, and 1K Kids Fun Run, along with virtual participation options.

With a superhero theme encouraging capes and costumes, this year’s event is bigger than ever, aligning with PCRF’s $25 million campaign to fund cutting-edge research, ensure equitable care, and support mental health and survivorship programs for children and families facing pediatric cancer. Every step counts toward life-saving breakthroughs.

New this year, Free Walk Registration. In a continued effort to make the event accessible to all, PCRF is offering free registration for the 5K Walk, ensuring that anyone who wants to join in the fight against childhood cancer can do so.

“Reaching for the Cure is more than just a fundraising event- it’s a movement. It’s a day where survivors, families, and supporters come together to inspire hope and drive change,” said Danielle Fragalla, CEO of the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation. “As part of our $25 million campaign, this event directly fuels research advancements and care allowing children to not only survive but thrive beyond cancer.”

PCRF remains committed to funding early-stage, high-impact research, driving innovation toward less toxic treatments and groundbreaking cures. Childhood cancer remains the leading cause of disease-related death in children under 20, making investment in pediatric research more urgent than ever. With less than 4% of government funding allocated to pediatric cancer—and the looming threat of further NIH budget cuts—researchers and families are facing even greater challenges in securing the resources needed to advance critical breakthroughs. Organizations like PCRF play a crucial role in bridging this gap, and events like Reaching for the Cure are essential in driving life-saving discoveries and ensuring children have access to the care they need.

Be a Hero for Kids Battling Cancer! Every child deserves a healthy, happy future. Whether you run, walk, or donate, your participation fuels the critical research and care needed to change lives. Sign up today and be part of the movement to power cures, expand equitable care, and advance mental health and survivorship programs.
