PCC (Plastics Color Corporation) Acquires Liquid Color Manufacturer
Plastics Color Corporation just announced the acquisition of Polysource LLC, a color and additives manufacturer in Tempe, AZ.
- (1888PressRelease) September 08, 2011 - Calumet City, Ill., PCC (Plastics Color Corporation), a leading supplier of color concentrates, compounds and additive masterbatches for the plastics industry, recently announced the acquisition of Polysource LLC and its Pinnacle Color subsidiary, a color and additives manufacturer and distributor located in Tempe, Arizona. The newly named Plastics Distribution Corporation, PDC, will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Plastics Color Corporation. According to Plastics Color's President Doug Borgsdorf, "the purchase of Polysource gives PCC an established position in the North American liquid color market as well as a new distribution channel for both existing and new products. Polysource is a successful distribution company with a solid customer base, all of which fits strategically within our product portfolio." PCC currently manufactures and distributes liquid color through its Nanjing, China facility.
Polysource was started in 1998 by Craig Degnaro, a 30-year veteran of the liquid plastics business. Degnaro will be retained as the manager of the new business unit. "Craig's technical expertise in the liquid color field and his business experience in running Polysource, as well as other ventures, are important reasons why we made the decision to purchase this operation," said Borgsdorf.
According to Degnaro, "Polysource had been looking for a business partner that would help us grow our operations. The acquisition by PCC provides access to a wider range of products, increased manufacturing capabilities and a larger sales force." PCC operates manufacturing facilities and product development labs in Illinois, North Carolina, California and China. The purchase gives PCC an immediate entry into the plastics manufacturing market in Mexico through Polysource's distributor relationships. According to PCC's VP of Business Development Tim Workman, "we've been active in the Latin American market for some time. The purchase of Polysource gives us an increased presence in Mexico, Central and South America, all consistent with PCC's growth objectives for the region.
