PCA Life Spent a Meaningful Day with Low-Income Seniors in Celebration of Parents Day
Continued for 4 years in order to show their respect and gratitude for older people's lives. Delivered handmade carnation corsages and gifts.
- (1888PressRelease) October 31, 2014 - PCA Life (Young-Jin Kim, CEO, www.pcakorea.co.kr) visited Seoul Nan-Hyang Seniors' Center and spent a good time with seniors to celebrate 'Parents Day' on last May 2nd.
This is an annual event kept lasting for 4 years in order to deliver their respect and gratitude for seniors' lives to celebrate 'Parents Day'. Approximately 10 volunteers of PCA Magic Number Volunteer Corps who attended on that day expressed gratitude to seniors by putting handmade red carnations on their chests in person.
They also ruminated about meaning of Parents Day by donating products such as computers and health foods and having precious time for communion with seniors having refreshments prepared. In addition, for senior citizens who live alone in the neighborhood, PCA Life employees also visited their house and delivered gifts and carnations.
Eun Young, Kwon of PCA Life, said, "I feel really great about having an opportunity to repay them for their love. I would like to be of help to them through a sustained interest and participation not only on Parents Day but also ordinary day."
Meanwhile, PCA Life has been continuing the support and regular volunteer by signing up with Help Age Korea, a sponsoring institution for low-income seniors, since 2010 through Chairman's Challenge fund, the UK Prudential Group's CSR program.
Chairman's Challenge is a CSR program to encourage employees' volunteer activities of a group in each country. Employees who enroll in and participate in the Chairman's Challenge receive £150 per person (KRW 27 million) as a financial aid and donate it to each country's social contributions partner agencies and participate in the program sponsored by agencies as a volunteer.
