Strategic Hire Enhances Industrial Property Management Practice in New Jersey.
- Edison, NJ (1888PressRelease) July 09, 2011 - Commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. has appointed Patrick Connelly of Monroe Twp., N.J., as its director of industrial property management in New Jersey. This strategic hire reflects the company's initiative to fully integrate its industrial platform locally, regionally and nationally.
Connelly comes to his new role with extensive experience in property management, leasing, development and project management. He previously served in various positions over a 21-year career at Matrix Development Group, most recently as the Vice President - Asset Management.
At Matrix, he successfully managed in excess of 12 million square feet of Class A industrial and office properties in New Jersey's Exit 8A and Exit 7A submarkets, with full responsibility for managing a department of professionals overseeing asset management, construction and leasing services. His duties also included direct responsibility for the leasing efforts of Matrix's owned and third-party managed properties. Additionally, he was responsible for launching two successful initiatives for tax appeal services and solar project consulting services.
"Patrick brings deep knowledge and a thorough approach to all facets of his work, in addition to relationships with top industry executives," noted Gualberto "Gil" Medina, the firm's New Jersey executive managing director. "As we work to grow our foothold in the industrial property management arena here in New Jersey, his expertise will be invaluable."
The Garden State houses the nation's third largest industrial inventory. It is long recognized as a key distribution hub, centrally located on the Eastern Seaboard and offering a highly developed port, airport, rail and highway infrastructure.
"Given the state of the economy, market conditions are primed for institutional investors to enter or expand in the New Jersey industrial real estate market," Connelly said. "Within this context, this is an opportune time for Cushman & Wakefield to focus locally on the property management aspect of its service offerings. I look forward to helping the firm grow its competitive position and market share."
Connelly is one of several new hires focused on increasing the strength and depth of Cushman & Wakefield's industrial management practice nationwide. "Our role is to provide a support network for the firm's brokerage and capital markets teams," he said.
"From a regional perspective I will be working to 'connect the dots' with all of our management teams within the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions," Connelly added. "We are fully integrated with our other teams throughout the U.S., which allows us to provide coordinated coverage of the entire country. This positions Cushman & Wakefield to handle management assignments of any size or geographic scope."
Connelly earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from Kean University and holds the Real Property Administrator (RPA) designation from BOMI International. He is a past president and executive board member of BOMA NJ and has won the organization's "Building of the Year" award multiple times. He also is a founding member and past chair of the BOMI's Environmental committee and is the current chairperson of its Standards of Floor Measurement committee. Connelly serves as an instructor for both BOMA and BOMI.
