Passive Fire Protection Inspection Company Adds Photoluminescent Egress Path Marking Systems to List of Services
LSS Life Safety Services now installing photoluminescent egress path marking systems in commercial facilities.
- (1888PressRelease) March 27, 2012 - LSS Life Safety Services (LSS), a highly respected passive fire protection inspection and repair company, recently added Photoluminescent Egress Path Marking Systems (PLES) and photoluminescent exit signs to their list of installation services. These systems will aide commercial buildings in meeting compliance with the 2009 Edition of the International Building Code (IBC) and the International Fire Code (IFC).
The 2009 International Building Code Section 1024 and International Fire Code Section 4604.23 mandates that all non-residential buildings, both new and existing, over 75 feet in height must install Photoluminescent Exit Path Markings in all enclosed emergency stairwells. Code requirements consist of markings on handrails, stair treads & landings, demarcation lines, exit door marking & direction signage and obstruction markings. Photoluminescent Egress Path Markings are also required by many state and local building codes as well as the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Life Safety CodeŽ.
"Our Life Safety technicians have been in well over 2,500 facilities across the United States performing fire damper inspections, fire door inspections and installing firestop material. We have really seen a lot, "said Jack Meredith, Vice President of Production. "Adding the installation of PLES to our list of services seems like a natural move for LSS. We want to be the company that people think of when they think of passive fire protection. PLES fits nicely into that scenario", said Meredith.
LSS Life Safety Services' technicians have been certified to install PLES systems by Balco, one of the top manufacturer's for photoluminescent aisle markers, exit signs, and photoluminescent egress marking systems.
