- Altoona, PA (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2011 - Parmigiani Fleurier recently honours Nadia Dresti in recognition of her cultural commitment to Swiss and international cinema.
A well-known influential figure in the film industry, Nadia Dresti started her career in cinema in 1984, working with the Locarno International Film Festival. Four years later she was appointed Marketing Director for Switzerland for 20th Century Fox-Columbia TriStar, based in Geneva. In 1990 she set up her own company, Zero Problem, specialising in public relations, press and promotion for the cinema. At the same time she worked with the Solothurn, Nyon and Cinéma tout Ecran festivals.
For 8 years, Nadia Dresti sat on the Promotion & Marketing Commission of the Berne Federal Office of Culture, as well as the Executive Committee of Swiss Films in Zurich. In January 1998 Nadia Dresti moved to Paris, from where she managed contracts from independent distributors, producers, majors, festivals and markets. The experience she gained at the European Film Market in Berlin and, in particular, at the Marché du Film at Cannes, inspired her to develop a new sector for the Locarno Film Festival called "Industry Office", which aims to service the requirements of the global film industry. Nadia Dresti has been its director for 12 years. In 2006 she returned to her native city of Locarno, where she was appointed Delegate of Artistic Direction for the Locarno Film Festival.
