Park Inn Muscat accepts "I will if you will" challenge on Earth hour 2013
The Park Inn by Radisson Muscat Hotel accepts Earth hour's
"I will if you will challenge". The hotel will give 10 weekend breakfast for 2 guests each if 100 people will wear color green on Earth hour at Sama Terrazza rooftop.
- (1888PressRelease) March 19, 2013 - 200 hotels worldwide will participate in Earth Hour 2013 responding to a united call for environmental action around the world.
Cities in 92 countries around the world shut off their lights for one hour on the 23rd of March in observance of Earth Hour, an annual event geared at showing support for taking action on climate change issues.
At the Park Inn Hotel in-house guests were given the option of participating through switching off the power in their rooms from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
They are invited to spend that time at the Sama Terrazza rooftop by candlelight with complimentary refreshments provided by the hotel.
Throughout the rest of the hotel, only essential lighting was kept on with even high level signage switched off. Diners at the Palm restaurant and the RBG Grill enjoyed their meal by candlelight during that hour.
The lights out environment initiative is supported by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), which in 2009 had 4,000 cities across 88 countries turn their lights out in a united call on climate change.
