  • (1888PressRelease) June 15, 2011 - The French Pavilion at IBC, the leading international event for the electronic media, will present 34 companies from across the audio-visual sector. IBC will be held in Amsterdam (in The Netherlands) from 9 to 13 September 2011. The 447mē French Pavilion is being organised by the Paris Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCIP), in partnership with France Broadcast.

The French Pavilion, which will be located in Halls 2, 3, 8 and 11 (booths 2B39, 2C40, 2A30, 3B20, 8B30 and 11D70) of the IBC trade show, in Amsterdam (in The Netherlands), will present 34 exhibitors in radio and television, in the electronic media, and in content-generating industries. French expertise from across the sector will be showcased, including lighting, video and sound technology; vision solutions; broadcasting software; video distribution; and, finally, radio-broadcast systems. A full list of exhibitors on the French Pavilion is available upon request.

The audio-visual sector in France has been revolutionised by the development of digital technology. The major technological breakthrough, over recent years, has been the successful roll-out of digital terrestrial television (DTTV), whose successful deployment has been faster and smoother than most industry watchers expected. Since the start of 2011, over 90% of the French population has been covered. The deployment of DTTV is continuing, with a goal of reaching 95% of the population by the end of 2011.

Digital radio is also growing in France. Digital radio will allow for an increase in the volume of radio programmes (since the FM bandwidth is currently saturated), as well as better coverage, with a single frequency for each radio station. In the future, it will also be possible to display information and/or images on the screens of digital radio receivers.
