Paranormal Modern Folk Singer Records Soundtrack For A Superhero Novel
As The Music And Publishing Industries Become More Competitive, Some Artists Find New Ways To Stand Out.
- (1888PressRelease) January 14, 2011 - Soundtracks for novels are still rare, but author James Maxey and musician Jonah Knight are working to change that.
Maxey, best known for his Dragon Age series, and Knight, a Paranormal Modern Folk singer, met at Capclave 2010, a science fiction convention, and became fans of each other's work. After a few weeks of correspondence, the two decided to collaborate.
In January, Knight will be releasing a collection of songs based on Maxey's novel Nobody Gets The Girl. Nobody was originally published by Phobos Books in October 2003, but no ebook edition was ever produced. Now that all rights have returned to Maxey seven years after initial publication, he's prepared an electronic edition of the text that will be released in conjunction with Knight's music release. The songs will be available for free download through February before being released on iTunes.
Nobody Gets The Girl is a superhero novel starring Richard Rogers, a man whose past is erased by a time machine accident. Now existing as an intangible, invisible ghost in a world where he was never born, Richard is recruited by the scientist who erased his life to join a team of superheroes to serve as the world's ultimate spy, code-named Nobody.
Knight's collection of songs follow Rogers' journey as he reluctantly comes to grips with being a superhero. Knight hopes that the music will help continue the experience of the novel once the reader has finished.
The electronic novel Nobody Gets The Girl is currently available on Amazon and Smashwords.com.
The online exclusive EP Nobody Gets The Girl: songs for the novel by James Maxey, is available as a free download for a limited time at http://www.jonahofthesea.com
