Bank Partners With Junior Achievement Of Eastern North Carolina To Lead Junior Achievement Financial Literacy Programs.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) December 20, 2012 - Paragon Commercial Bank (http://www.paragoncommercial.com), North Carolina's first business-only bank, has announced that the bank has partnered with Junior Achievement (JA) of Eastern North Carolina for the fourth consecutive year to bring JA financial literacy programs to students at Daniels Middle School. Paragon employees taught Junior Achievement Economics for Success®, which explores personal finance and students' education and career options based on their skills, interests and values. Each year, Paragon employees volunteer and lead JA courses teaching students about personal finance, entrepreneurship and workforce readiness. JA courses are six-lesson programs where the Paragon team makes weekly visits to Daniels Middle School and teaches students about finance.
Paragon's lessons include PowerPoint presentations, hands-on activities and age-appropriate discussions where the students are fully engaged. Since 2009, Paragon volunteers have worked with approximately 1,600 students.
