(1888PressRelease) June 26, 2007 - Detroit, MI – Paperbag Theatre, created by Motorwood Entertainment, has announced that they are developing a new episode for direct to video called, The Dread Pirate Jonah, set to be released in January 2008.
The Dread Pirate Jonah will feature the same characters from the home video favorite, The Boy Who Faced His Giant. In Jonah, David and his friends avoid responsibility only to have their course corrected when David’s matter-of-fact dad shares the story of Jonah from the Bible. Of course, along the way, David and his friends encounter the always kooky school janitor Mr. Squint, the ever macho Coach Rizzo, and everyone’s favorite angels, Mac and Bruno.
After a long negotiation period with God over the story rights, writers Gary Allison and Ric Viers have locked themselves in a virtual whale’s belly to soak in Jonah’s experience. Shooting will begin in September 2007.
Motorwood Entertainment is a family entertainment company located in Detroit, MI. They are currently producing Paperbag Theatre, a children’s DVD series that teaches lessons from the Bible with somewhat of a twist. The first release from Paperbag Theatre is, THE BOY WHO FACED HIS GIANT, through Madacy Entertainment. The international release is in most major retail stores and on the web.
