- (1888PressRelease) January 04, 2013 - Salwan Media in partnership with BrainGain Magazine (www.braingainmag.com) - a leading study abroad magazine, has launched an essay competition directed towards students aged between 16 and 18.
Students are asked to interpret a quote from a well-known ancient Greek philosopher, Plato, who said "The direction in which education starts a man [person], will determine his future life."
The competition is open to students from across the entire South Asia region (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka). Contestants are invited to submit one essay each - writing 600 - 650 words. Entries can be in the form of a story or an academic essay. The contest ends on 31st January 2013 at 12pm.
"Youth in South Asia will be in the driver's seat for creating the 21st century "knowledge" economy. Our endeavor has been to create a common platform for interaction amongst this otherwise isolated group. Through our essay competition we offer students an opportunity to interact with their peers in other nations - while we get a chance to celebrate and cherish the creative talent of young people." said, Harjiv Singh, CEO and Founder of Salwan Media Pvt.
The winner of the essay contest will receive a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, and their school will be recognized at Salwan Media's One Globe 2013: Uniting Knowledge Communities conference, due to take place at the Imperial Hotel in New Delhi on February 7-8. The top 10 essay entries will receive limited edition braingainmag.com t-shirt, while the top 25 entries will be featured on the braingainmag.com e-zine.
