Market analysts are predicting silver prices as high as $60 an ounce in 2012, based on macroeconomic factors.
(1888PressRelease) December 29, 2011 - MIAMI, FL - The prediction forecasts increased investment demand due to a general mistrust regarding the future of the world's monetary system. Many of these concerns assume the end of the euro in view of the economic debacle that has recently played out in Europe. Increased industrial demand is also a consideration but it is the investment demand that experts suggest could result in a doubling of the current silver price.
As "poor man's gold", silver offers investors a far more accessible entry point into the market; silver bullion and coins have been used as money for centuries and, like gold, silver has an intrinsic value and is readily tradable anywhere in the world. Unlike gold, however, silver is also widely used in industry with over 50% of demand coming from the industrial sector.
"Theoretically, investment and industrial demand balance each other in the case of silver," says Bill Hionas of Pan American Metals of Miami. "However, fundamentals being as they are, it is extremely probable that we will see substantially increased investment demand for silver next year. Investors are looking for a safe place to put their money and both gold and silver bullion offer this. Silver, however, is more affordable than gold and has the potential for substantial gains, making it very attractive as an investment vehicle."
At any price under $30, silver can be considered a bargain, offering a perfect buying opportunity.
