PainShield by NanoVibronix gains Canadian Medical Device License
Therapeutic Devices Bureau in Canada has granted the medical device license allowing Nanovibronix Ltd. to commence with PainShieldTM product sales in Canada.
- (1888PressRelease) September 26, 2011 - Santι, Canada - Therapeutic Devices Bureau has granted the medical device license allowing Nanovibronix Ltd. to commence with PainShieldTM product sales in Canada and to seek for a local distributor to promote and sell PainShieldTM therapeutic ultrasound device within Canada.
The PainShieldTM portable ultrasound product generates and delivers localized, low intensity, low frequency therapeutic ultrasound within a self adhering patch that is placed next to the treated area for a period of time.
This novel approach of delivering Low Intensity and Low Frequency (LILF) ultrasound allows for longer and more effective treatments. Unlike traditional ultrasound, the Surface Acoustic Waves (SAW) are characterized by elliptical particle movement travelling across bony surfaces with great efficiency. When the device is applied to a bony surface, such as the forehead, the LILF/SAW will travel and reach the entire skull surface and be effectively and efficiently transmitted via the Cerebrospinal fluid to the central nervous system (CNS) structures juxtaposed against the bony structures.
