Pacific Islanders in Communication Announces Winners in Travel Giveaway to Promoting "One Voice" Documentary

  • Honolulu, HI (1888PressRelease) September 27, 2010 - Pacific Islanders in Communications is pleased to announce the lucky winners of the trips to Hawaii and San Diego, as part of the Hawaii premiere of ONE VOICE, a documentary about Kamehameha Schools student song leaders on their journey through Song Contest.

    Misti Pali of Aiea and Kili Mai'i, born and raised in Palolo, are the two lucky winners chosen to attend the screening of the upcoming film.

    The contest was presented by Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC), a Honolulu-based non-profit organization that supports the advancement of Pacific Islander media content and talent. Hawaii residents were eligible to win two roundtrip tickets to San Diego, and Contiguous U.S., Guam and American Samoa residents were eligible to win two roundtrip tickets to Hawai'i to view the film. Contestants answered a question posted on the film's website and were selected based on their answers.

    Misti was in San Diego when she heard the news that she was one of the winners. "I am totally stoked and I can't wait- it looks like a great film." Misti will be attending the San Diego Asian Film Festival, being held October 21-28 of this year.

    Kili is a 2006 Kamehameha alumni and recent graduate of the University of Southern California, living in California, and just happens to be the daughter of legendary Hawaiian musician Steve Mai'i. She is excited to attend the Hawaii International Film Festival screening of ONE VOICE in October.

    More prizes are still being given away, including digital cameras, gift certificates to some of Hawaii's favorite local businesses and restaurants, and tickets to the HIFF screening of ONE VOICE.

    The Hawaii premiere of ONE VOICE is set for Friday, October 15th at 8:00 p.m. at the 30th annual Hawaii International Film Festival at Dole Cannery Stadium 18 Theaters.
