Ltd.) has been declared one of the 14 Winners of NSDC Innovations for Skills Challenge 2014 (NISC 2014) for its unique platform that enhances the work skills of students at all levels of formal education by an innovative system of Industry-sourced Live Projects & Virtual Internships. The National Skill Development Corporation launched NISC 2014 in August last year to identify and support sustainable and scalable entities that will positively impact and create a multiplier effect in the skill development space.
This Award is a huge recognition for an organization that Skills 10,000+ students every year through 5000+ Projects/ Internship Opportunities, sourced directly from its network of 3000+ companies.
The National Skill Development Corporation, (NSDC) is a one of its kind, Public Private Partnership in India. It aims to promote skill development by catalyzing creation of large, quality, for-profit vocational institutions. Its mandate is also to enable support systems such as quality assurance, information systems and train the trainer academies either directly or through partnerships. NSDC, therefore, acts as a catalyst in skill development by providing funding to enterprises, companies and organizations that provide skill training.
The NISC 2014 received an overwhelming response with 172 applications from different parts of India. All applications went through a rigorous review at multiple levels. 34 entities with diverse solutions impacting the skill development ecosystem were selected for the final round. An expert jury evaluated all 34 entities on 2 separate days in Bangalore and Delhi. OysterConnect.com eventually emerged as One of 14 Winners NISC 2014 as declared by NSDC.
In addition to the opportunity to receive funding up to, but not limited to, Rs. 3 crore through debt investment, the winners were rewarded with introductions to industry experts and business leaders, access to discounted working spaces, a six-month mentorship with TiE and national visibility.
