Oxford Acupuncture Clinic, Naturechild, Announces New Antenatal Classes and Fertility Workshops for Oxfordshire Couples
A series of antenatal classes and fertility awareness workshops for Oxfordshire couples will be run by Oxford acupuncture clinic, Naturechild, who specialise in fertility, pregnancy and labour treatments.
- (1888PressRelease) July 27, 2010 - With a similar curriculum to NCT classes, the series of antenatal classes and fertility awareness workshops being held by acupuncturist and birth doula, Jani White, will provide Oxfordshire couples with a forum to learn about pregnancy, birth and parenthood in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Jani White, founder of Oxford acupuncture clinic, Naturechild, says, "Lots of couples miss the boat when signing up for NCT classes, and then wonder where they can get responsible, impartial and sympathetic advice in the run up to labour. Naturechild's 'Having Babies' antenatal classes follow a similar curriculum to the NCT classes, so we teach all about preparing for labour, the birth and recovery, as well as helping fathers and birthing partners to understand their role. "
The series of three antenatal classes, each lasting around two hours, is suitable from around the 34th week of pregnancy. Sessions will be held with no more than six couples, to enable the group to share concerns and experiences without feeling embarrassed or under the spotlight. The antenatal classes can be followed up with an Acupressure for Labour Workshop for dads and birthing partners to learn the acupoints for labour, how to find them and about the different ways that they can be used.
Similarly, a series of fertility workshops, 'Making Babies', are also being held to help couples in the pre-conception stage, and focus on health, diet, pre-conception care and underlying causes of sub- or infertility. Like the antenatal classes, these workshops will be held as three, two-hour evening sessions run across consecutive weeks, and can be followed up with a special Diet for Fertility session.
Jani White is a registered doula and acupuncturist specialising in fertility, pregnancy and labour, so is well placed to help couples ask the right questions of their care providers and make informed choices about fertility, their pregnancy and labour.
