Owner of Hairspray Salon, to Host Art Exhibit Saturday, June 2nd, 2012
Luz Arteaga-Pray, Owner of Hairspray Salon, will be hosting an art exhibit on Saturday, June 2, 2012.
- Providence-Fall River-Warwick, RI-MA (1888PressRelease) June 01, 2012 - The debut of Photographer Ryan Clarke, Oil on Acrylic Painter Jen Gillooly Cahoon, and Painter and Sculptor, Madison Gregory, will be featured at the upcoming event, portraying (specify what type of art will be on display).
"I hope to eventually make my salon an informal venue for all kinds of art mediums," Arteaga-Pray said, "in the hopes of demonstrating that the art of dressing hair can be a great creative outlet."
Arteaga-Pray has been hosting local art exhibits since taking over her salon over seven years ago. The salon, which has been in existence for nearly twenty years ago, was purchased in January of 2005.
On May 31, 2012, Arteaga-Pray will be recognized by Providence Business News at their Business Women's Awards Luncheon, alongside numerous other prominent business women in the state of Rhode Island. They previously granted her with a Woman of the Month Award in November, 2011
Arteaga-Pray has also been featured in The Providence Journal in their Sunday Spotlight section called 'Diversity', displaying her smart networking tactics and small business successes. She was also covered in a story in Get Magazine, a small local, gay magazine in which her salon has supported gay causes, including Rhode Island Youth Pride and AIDS Care Ocean State. She is a certified beautician, has studied at the Arthur Angelo School of Cosmetology in Providence, and later in advanced education at the Toni and Guy Hairdressing Academy for Higher Education in London, England, specializing in coloring and artistic director.
