Owen Trinkler looks to continue RSR Motorsports' consistency in the Continental Tire Sports Car Festival Powered by Mazda

(1888PressRelease) July 08, 2011 - P1 Groupe driver Owen Trinkler and RSR Motorsports have been putting together quite a season thus far in the 2011 GRAND- AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series season. The team has recorded five Top-10 finishes to date, and they will be looking for number six this upcoming weekend in the Continental Tire Sports Car Festival Powered by Mazda. Trinkler has done a great job this season in the role as the finisher for the #198 Mini Cooper S Team, and he will be called upon once again to bring the Mini Cooper S to the finish line of the 11-turn, 2.238-mile road course. Having all of the confidence in the world in his team and co-driver Sarah Cattaneo, Trinkler is ready for the challenge.

"The RSR team has given Sarah and me the equipment all season long to compete at the front of the ST field, and I cannot thank them and Randy Smalley enough for the effort they've put up." Trinkler continues; "I'd also like to dedicate this weekends' event to the memory of Diane Smalley. The RSR team is an extension of the Smalley family and this is truly a loss for us all."

Entering the eighth race of the year Trinkler is currently in 5th in driver points, while RSR Motorsports is currently 4th in team points for the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series.

The GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be aired on SPEED Channel on July 17th at 1pm. All Times Eastern.
