Outdoor Photography for the Beginning DSLR Photographer Returns to Gordonia-Alatamaha in October

- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) July 27, 2012 - Outdoor Photography for the Beginning Digital SLR Photographer returns to Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park in Reidsville, Georgia on Saturday, October 6, 2012. The workshop begins at 10 a.m. and runs until 4:30 p.m.
The workshop will cover aperture and shutter settings, ISO choices, metering, white balance, histograms, depth of field, and composition principles. Cameras that include settings for aperture priority, shutter priority, ISO, metering, focus area, and white balance are acceptable cameras. Some prosumer or bridge cameras do not have interchangeable lens, but have all of the features that will be addressed in the workshop.
The workshop is taught by a professional photographer, Jackie DeBusk, who sells her works through several stock photography sites. Her photos have been purchased and used by writers including use on Traveltips.USAToday.com. DeBusk was also awarded 2012 South Carolina Parks Artist-in-Residence; pictures from her stay at Santee State Park can be seen on her website.
The instructional sessions will take place in the group shelter with hands-on activities during the sessions, as well as, personal attention from the instructor during the afternoon photo assignments in the park. In the event of inclement weather, additional photography activities have been planned to continue in the group shelter. The day includes a lunch break, so bring a brown bag lunch and drink to enjoy in the park.
The workshop fee is $25 if paid on or before Sept. 21, 2012. If paid at the door on October 6, 2012 the fee is $30. Pre-registering and pre-paying are recommended. The workshop will be limited to 30 seats.
