Chris Chase, the founder of Otter Wax™ says that he was tired of the lack of options when it came to taking care of his own leather goods. The only leather conditioners on the market utilized Petroleum Distillates (toxic fumes), Mink Oil (made from the fat of slaughtered mink), or Neatsfoot Oil (rendered from the bones of slaughtered cattle). It was his aversion to these products, that got him asking the question, "If you wouldn't use a product on your own skin, why would you use it on your leather?"

Otter Wax™ Leather Salve is made using a proprietary blend of all-natural waxes and oils along with moisturizing Shea Butter and Flaxseed Oil. The formula also uses a distinct proprietary blend of essential oils, giving Leather Salve the delicate scent of lemongrass and cedar wood.
