Osaka Financial Bullion Service Piques Investor Interest
Leading Japan-based investment broker and wealth manager, Osaka Financial has received a high number of inquiries about its soon-to-be-launched bullion holding service from Japanese investors.
- (1888PressRelease) January 18, 2016 - The service, which will offer investors a means by which to purchase physical precious metals online and provide fully secure and insured storage facilities in three major cities, is scheduled to go live in the second quarter of 2016.
Investors will be able to take physical delivery of their holdings if they so wish but Osaka Financial's facilities will provide storage in 5 major cities in Japan including Osaka and Tokyo. "We want investors to have convenient access to their holdings but we have no qualms about delivering their metals to them at a location of their choosing," said Dan Carradine, commodities strategist at Osaka Financial.
According to Carradine, interest is largely focused on the fact that the service is not an exchange-traded fund (ETF) or a "paper gold" investment in which, often, there is no actual physical metal backing the share certificates investors in the fund are given.
"Many investors would like to possess the actual physical metals they purchase but security can be an issue especially in the event of a break in at the investor's home or business. Our service will eliminate that concern by providing round-the-clock protection at highly secure, purpose-built facilities," added Carradine.
Although the performance of precious metals on the spot markets has been disappointing in recent couple of years, thanks largely to naked short-selling of contracts on the COMEX, there's been a surge in physical metal purchases with gold and silver coins and ingots regularly selling out.
