  • (1888PressRelease) October 29, 2007 - Roland White, Broker and co-listing Agent with Cushman Tebbs Sotheby's International Realty in Bend Oregon reports that the internationally acclaimed 120,000 acre Ponderosa Cattle & Guest Ranch in Senneca Oregon has been sold for $23 Million Dollars. Roland White co-listing agent with Cushman & Tebbs Sotheby's International Realty represented the Seller in the transaction and the new owner is listed as the Silvies Valley Ranch LLC, Portland Oregon.

The Ponderosa Cattle & Guest Ranch has always been a working cattle ranch. In 1993 the owners established the Guest Ranch with a 5000' foot paved airstrip, 7000 square foot log guest lodge and eight cabins with 24 double occupancy guest rooms.

The rest is history as the ranch catered to guests from all over the world. From 2001 to 2004 Ponderosa Ranch was awarded Best Western Resort by International Resorts and Great Hotels. The ranch includes 30,000 deeded acres and 90,000 leased, for a total of 120,000 acres. Guests visiting the ranch had many options to relax including riding the west with the ranch’s own cowboy wranglers herding cows and taking part in down to earth ranch work. The 30,000 deeded acres located in the heart of the Silvies River has 5000 acres of Water Rights, grows chest high grass hay and can graze up to 5000 head of cattle.

In addition to catering to an international guest audience the ranch with it’s western setting and historic buildings have been the site for world class photography seminars, western equine training, and corporate retreats of international caliber.

The ranch includes nearly 20 miles of the Silvies River, high mountain valleys, 9 tributaries, natural ponds, tall Ponderosa Pines, grassy meadows, snow covered peaks, aspen groves, the historic ranch buildings, the guest lodge, cabins and other ranch facilities, surrounded by the Malhuer National Forest.

Although there are many ranches with the same name as the Ponderosa, this property was originally the Silvies River Valley Ranch. In 1952 the Pon family registered the name Ponderosa Ranch. The legal filing of the name in Oregon in 1952 predates most other ranches that are called Ponderosa. At 120,000, total acres it represents one of the largest single sized parcels of land in the Western United States.

Roland White co-listing agent with Cushman & Tebbs Sotheby's International Realty represented the Seller in the transaction for the sale price of 23 million dollars and the new owner is listed as the Silvies Valley Ranch LLC, Portland Oregon.
