Open Study College to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support
Students at Open Study College are helping to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support in 2011. Every new student enrolment will trigger an automatic donation from the distance learning provider with at least £5000 set to be raised in 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) February 08, 2011 - Open Study College will donate to Macmillan Cancer Support for each new student enrolment in 2011. The Birmingham-based distance learning college asked their students to vote for a good cause to support for the next year.
Centre Director Samantha Rutter said "Everyone's life is touched in some way by cancer and we look forward to supporting the excellent work of Macmillan Cancer Support. We'll be creative in our fundraising approach and want to smash the guaranteed £5000 we've agreed to donate."
In addition to a donation for every new student enrolment, the distance learning college will organise a series of activities throughout the year to spur on extra support from staff and students.
Cat Yates Fundraising Manager for Macmillan said "We are delighted that the Open Study College have decided to support us. They are very enthused and ready for action. With their help we can build great awareness of Macmillan and raise vital funds for people affected by cancer. We want to thank them for their commitment and we very look forward to working with them in the future."
