Ontario Province will Target New 6 Tech Occupations in Express Entry Draw
The province of Ontario in its latest immigration plan has announced to invite 6 tech occupations through Express Entry sometimes in the near future for Canadian Permanent Residence.
- (1888PressRelease) July 13, 2019 - The province of Ontario in its latest immigration plan has announced to invite 6 tech occupations through Express Entry sometimes in the near future for Canadian Permanent Residence. Ontario will hold a targeted express entry draw through existing Human Capital Priorities Stream for the applicants in six targeted tech skill occupations.
The new tech draw will focus on Ontario employer needs because of the skill-shortage in the most popular province. It is estimated that Canada will bring up to 220,000 skilled workers in Information and Communication Technology sector only by 2021.
The six occupations that will be targeted by Ontario under its Tech related express entry draw are Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173), Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174), Computer engineers (NOC 2147), Web designers and developers (NOC 2175), Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172) and Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213).
The OINP said the six occupations reflect current needs in the province that are required to get filled up to meet the labour market requirement.
All these occupations are eligible for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program through Human Capital Priorities Stream.
The Federal Government decides the number of intakes for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) every year for permanent residency of Canada. This year, Ontario Immigration Program intake is fixed at 6,900.
The Canadian Immigration will continue to invite a number of skilled migrants nearly one million newcomers between 2019 and 2021.
