OnPoint Community Credit Union Raised More than $124,000 at the Credit Union for Kids Auction
Funds will support Credit Unions for Kids-a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, associations, and business partners that fundraise for Children's Miracle Network affiliated hospitals.
- Portland-Vancouver, OR-WA (1888PressRelease) November 24, 2010 - OnPoint Community Credit Union, the largest credit union in Oregon, hosted an auction on October 7th to raise funds for Credit Unions for Kids-a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, associations, and business partners that fundraise for Children's Miracle Network affiliated hospitals. OnPoint and the Credit Union for Kids Auction raised an unprecedented $124,000.
More than 250 people were present as OnPoint transformed the Lloyd Center Doubletree Hotel into "A Night Under the Big Top." Hayley Platt, co-host of KOIN-TV's Studio 6, emceed the event which provided dinner, live and silent auctions, and a special presentation from a former Doernbecher Children's Hospital patient.
Generous participation from the entire credit union community contributed to the record-breaking auction. The funds raised will be used locally at Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Sacred Heart Medical Center and Rogue Valley Medical Center to support:
• A professorship for Dr. Robert Steiner at Doernbecher Children's Hospital
• A labor and delivery triage room at Sacred Heart Medical Center
• A HUGS infant security system at Rogue Valley Medical Center
