OnPoint Community Credit Union Announces Guy Poppe as Pacific Coast Banking School Graduate
Pacific Coast Banking School equips bank and credit union professionals with advanced leadership and business skills.
- Portland-Vancouver, OR-WA (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2011 - OnPoint Community Credit Union announced that Member Business Lending Credit Officer Guy Poppe has graduated from the Pacific Coast Banking School (PCBS). In partnership with the Graduate School of Business at the University of Washington, PCBS provides a three year graduate level program of executive leadership and management education focused on the financial services industry. This year's graduating class consisted of 120 financial industry professionals representing credit unions and banks from around the United States.
"The curriculum at Pacific Coast Banking School provided me with significantly enhanced leadership skills and advanced business acumen," said Poppe. "PCBS will allow me to further contribute to OnPoint's business services offerings on a much higher level."
"Guy's commitment to his education at Pacific Coast Banking School demonstrates his dedication to being an outstanding financial resource for our members," said OnPoint's President and CEO Rob Stuart. "We look forward to his continued growth and congratulate him on his graduation from the PCBS program."
Poppe joined OnPoint Community Credit Union in February of 2011 and has more than 12 years experience in the financial services industry. His management thesis paper, "Succession Planning for the Closely Held Business," focused on the lack of sound succession plans in a high percentage of closely held businesses. The lack of planning poses significant risk to both businesses and the institutions that finance these businesses. By helping focus on the need for a sound succession plan, credit unions and banks can mitigate risk while adding considerable value to a relationship.
