One Thousand Ocean hosts event for an upcoming episode of HGTV's 'Selling New York'
An upcoming "Selling New York" episode with the Kleiers will be the second in which the iconic One Thousand Ocean condominium in Boca Raton has a starring role on the top-rated series.
- West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, FL (1888PressRelease) April 13, 2011 - It was "lights, camera, action" at the end of March when the production crew from HGTV's top-rated series "Selling New York" filmed an event with more than 300 stylish guests in a sprawling, $15 million-plus penthouse at One Thousand Ocean in Boca Raton. The iconic Ocean-to-Intracoastal condominium provided a one-of-kind location for an episode that is expected to air in the next few months. Just weeks before, the crew filmed a party at The London NYC Hotel which introduced the stellar building to New Yorkers.
Both events were attended by the Kleier family of Gumley Haft Kleier Realty, who are among stars of the "Selling New York" hit show, and Jamie Telchin, president of development for LXR Luxury Resorts, who hosted both events. (An LXR affiliate developed One Thousand Ocean.) One Thousand Ocean previously entered into a strategic alliance with the Kleiers to refer brokers and prospects to the building.
"The Kleiers have a longstanding connection to Boca Raton. They frequently vacation and own property here, so we felt this would be a great relationship, particularly because many One Thousand Ocean residents originate from the Northeast," Telchin said. "The Kleiers operate one of Manhattan's top boutique real estate brokerage firms and they have already referred some high-net-worth clients to us, as well as introduced us to some of the top brokers in New York City. There were people who attended both events, and interest has been very strong. We have been extremely busy with three new contracts and subsequent closings in the past three weeks, totaling almost $12 million. In addition, there is another new residence under contract, slated to close at the end of April. Sales in this trophy building continue to be remarkable, with only 16 of the 52 residences remaining, most of which are one-of-a-kind."
According to Telchin, guests had been looking forward to meeting Michele Kleier and her daughters, Samantha Kleier Forbes and Sabrina Kleier Morgenstern. "The Kleiers are engaging, gregarious and a pleasure to work with. In addition, we even had a surprise guest - Venus Williams - who also graciously mingled with the upbeat crowd and took some photographs."
During the evening, succulent seafood and a bounty of other culinary selections, prepared by the neighboring Boca Raton Resort & Club, were displayed alongside a 24-foot-long ice sculpture with the One Thousand Ocean logo etched into it. Ocean-blue martinis further reflected the stunning waterfront venue, and an array of desserts from Serendipity3 at the Boca Raton Resort provided the icing on the cake.
While guests explored the expansive penthouse spaces, admired the breathtaking views from the huge terrace that overlooks the Atlantic and Boca Raton Inlet, and enjoyed the action around them, models for Bloomingdale's in Boca Raton strolled through the crowd clad in designer-brand spring fashions.
Significant interest among guests in visiting the building's two furnished model residences led to tours being given throughout the event.
The upcoming "Selling New York" episode with the Kleiers will be the second in which One Thousand Ocean has a starring role. Michele Kleier had initially visited the property when it was under construction and she was vacationing in Boca Raton, while simultaneously scouting properties for a client. That episode aired in May 2010.
"We were so impressed with One Thousand Ocean that we returned after its completion," stated Michele Kleier, president and chairman of Gumley Haft Kleier Realty. "We're thrilled we did because of the wonderful relationship that has resulted with the developer and sales team."
"We anticipate that our alliance with the Kleiers will generate future interest in One Thousand Ocean from the New York market," Telchin pointed out, adding "Although brokers don't have exclusivity at One Thousand Ocean, we expect that our association with Gumley Haft Kleier will help us sell out the building."
Located adjacent to the Boca Raton Resort's Boca Beach Club, on a private peninsula surrounded by water on three sides, One Thousand Ocean offers ultra-luxurious Residences, Beach Villas and Penthouses priced from approximately $3 million to $15 million. While the popular Residences and Beach Villas average 4,000 square feet under air, the penthouses provide an average of approximately 7,220 air-conditioned square feet.
