Background: Claudia has created an "environment" more than a store, where things are changing regularly.
Her new retail concept brings together three separate stores that are part of the Crossroads of the World complex. Gräu which is located on 6679 Sunset Boulevard, around the corner in the courtyard of The Crossroads of World, are two additional stores--The Gräu Haus, now the main store where Ms. Gräu's designer clothing and accessories can be found, and The Small Gräu Haus a wonderful space that used to be a snack bar literally in the 30's and 40's that is perfect to feature for books, or millinery, or accessories.
Each location will feature our guest artists' and collectors' work along with The Gräu Haus collections.
Claudia Gräu opened her first store on Melrose Avenue in 1979 (at age 21) and has been credited as one of the legendary pioneering designers that made Melrose famous for fashion in the early 1980's. Celebrities like Cher, Bette Midler, and Diane Keaton were regulars at her boutique. Gräu designed for TV including Lisa Bonet's character on "The Cosby Show", Allyce Beasley's character on "Moonlighting" and commercials and films including "Heathers". Her clothes have also been sold at Barneys, Saks Fifth Avenue and Fred Segal.
Expect to be surprised. But come to enjoy, and experience why Los Angeles is full of exciting events, full of vibrant LA culture and Arts.
