One Last Call Michigan Made Short Film Comes Fully Loaded Like A Feature Film - Ready For Premiere April 2011
The premiere announcement of the feature short film, "One Last Call", a Michigan made movie by a team of over forty. A thirty-minute film that comes fully loaded like that of a feature film: nine locations, studios (both film and music), professional equipment, Michigan talent agencies, local entertainment acts and businesses, their own soundtrack, and music video.
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) March 18, 2011 - One Last Call film is set to premiere at the historic Royal Oak Main Art Theater 7pm on April 27th, 2011. One Last Call is an art house film with Lynchian appeal. It is a story based in redemption where a young man, Tom, and his newly found friend, Dodge, venture out on a night's binge of sin that leads them to their final temptation in the young woman known only as Red Dress. In giving into the red herring they are taken on a journey they never expected, and their road ends on the night's one last call; a call that gives them their last chance to salvation or damnation.
One Last Call is an Indie feature-short film, and it is in the genre of the supernatural thriller. The production is considered a feature-short; a short film that is between 21 to 60 minutes in length. One Last Call is recognized in its category for being a short film at the level equal to that of a feature length film and doing so with no budget. The production utilized nine locations, studios (both film and music), professional equipment, Michigan talent agencies, local entertainment acts and businesses, their own soundtrack and music video, with all above-the-line and below-the-line roles being 100% Michiganders.
Under the direction of Scott Sprague of Blind Spot Films One Last Call stars an all Michigan cast: Cole Corey, Andy Rathburg, Jaclyn Strez, Adisa Suljovic, Jonathan Theoret, Curtis Vest, and Michelle Balser Peterson. The film's editing, FX, and sound design is mastered through the artistry of Haris Cizmic of TheAxArt Studio. Cizmic also created the films theme song suitably titled, One Last Call, which is performed by guest singer, Rocquel Wallace, from the Detroit alternative/rock band, 34bliss. The film's aesthetic needs during production were established in close collaboration with the director and the director of photography under the production design of Mike Schiappacasse. And Angeline D'Balentine who is also Executive Producer of the production wrote the film's original screenplay. The producers are Scott Sprague, Haris Cizmic and Mike Schiappacasse. Other members of the distinguished behind-the-camera crew include director of photography Phil Lupo Jr., production manager/script supervisor Jet Trish Kraus, associate producer Sara Essiambre, lead makeup artist Vera Khzouz, set artist Hal Loo in collaboration with John Kraus, and head production assistant Noah Borders.
The film's star, Cole Corey, plays the character of Tom Angel. Corey recently starred in War Flowers, with Christina Ricci, as a civil war solider. It is a role he took immediately after One Last Call, and the speaking role that took him SAG. Prior to War Flowers and One Last Call, Corey also starred in Annabelle and Bear as the bad boy character, Raymond. War Flowers (Unity Studios) and Annabelle and Bear (Radish Creative) are also Michigan made movies and companies.
The film is anticipated to complete a two-year film festival run both nationally and internationally.
One Last Call Productions has decided to make this an admission free event to promote the growing film community. Donations will be appreciated and premiere sponsorships welcomed.
