On Site Energy will provide temporary power solutions by placing sound attenuated generators along the path to power the audio system from Brooklyn to Manhattan and a PEACH unit at the finish line.
Proud to be a sponsor of the ninth annual "Tunnel to Towers Walk/Run"
New York, NY (1888PressRelease) September 22, 2010 - On Sunday, September 26, 2010 On Site Energy will deploy generators and their PEACH unit for the third consecutive year during the ninth annual "Tunnel to Towers Run/Walk". Each year this event grows larger as people are looking for ways to remember the victims of 9/11. While the entire world felt the impact of the events, New York City experienced the devastation more than anywhere else. Nine years later, the city offers ways to make good on the nation's promise to "never forget" and to honor all those who died that day.
This year more than 20,000 runners and firefighters from every state in our great nation are expected to follow the heroic footsteps of Firefighter Stephen Siller, father of five, who raced with his gear strapped to his back through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Towers, where he laid down his life for others. The Tunnel to Towers Run/Walk honors not only Stephen Siller, but also the memory of all those who perished on that fateful day - "They will never be forgotten".
Once again, On Site Energy will provide temporary power solutions by placing sound attenuated generators along the path to power the audio system from Brooklyn to Manhattan. The PEACH (Packaged Electric Air Conditioning Heating) unit will again provide power and cooling to the NYFD dignitary tent at the finish line. PEACH, a first responder emergency equipment unit, utilizes a 45 kW generator for electricity, with a 10 ton air conditioner for cooling and a distribution panel that provides [6] 110V power outlets for accessories.
On Site Energy is proud to be among sponsors like UPS, WCBS News Radio, 1010 Wins, New York Islanders and Dunkin Donuts just to name a few. Proceeds from the Tunnel to Towers Run go to The Stephen Siller, FDNY, "Let Us Do Good" Children's Foundation who then distribute funds to organizations such as NY Firefighter Burn Center Foundation, Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund, Burn Centers Across America, Kidsave and more.
Patrick French, General Manger at On Site Energy said, "On Site Energy was hired to participate in the recovery efforts, our technicians and management worked around the clock for months at ground zero and our equipment remained there for years." As a small tribute to capture the feelings of our employees we complied pictures our personnel took while there. You can view this tribute at http://www.onsite-energy.com/movies/WTC.wmv.
