Silver Spur Homestead is a cross between old west living and modern luxuries, think the TV show Hell on Wheels meets the 21st century. The glamping cabin tent offers a new way for tourists to Tombstone to experience an old west settler’s tent without compromising on modern-day amenities.
“We wanted to offer a special and unique experience inclusive of the Historic town of Tombstone and also the beauty of the surrounding area,” says Bill Hiney, President at GR8 IDAZ Marketing Company. “The sunset and views are worth the visit alone.”
The Tombstone property is unique in that it sits on an old silver mine. The main house was built in 1882 as an Assay office for the Good Enough Mine Company in Tombstone Arizona. After the silver mines flooded and collapsed with water in 1884, the office property which was once flat is now on a hill and overlooks the historic district of Allen Street.
1924 the office was turned into a house and to add a little more interest to it… it was owned by Emmett Kelly Jr who was the famous clown “Weary Willie”. Emmett Kelly Jr. lived in the house from 1980 until 2005.
