- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) January 13, 2012 - Allen Wilson, President of Durham's prestigious Old Chatham Golf Club, is thrilled to announce the 10th anniversary of the private golf course. The club, tucked away in Northeast corner of Chatham County, North Carolina, is one of the state's most highly respected golfing communities.
On September 9th, 2011, Old Chatham commemorated its 10th Anniversary over an elegant cocktail party enjoyed by 250 golf club members and guests. The milestone celebration allowed the Old Chatham members and employees to honor the events of the past decade and to look forward to the Club's future endeavors. It was also an opportunity to show thanks to the original Old Chatham Board of Directors, whose original vision of an old-line golf club was the basis for today's golf experience at Old Chatham.
Old Chatham is a golf club focused on the enjoyment of a truly unique golf experience in a private, 400-acre setting. The Club offers a high level of service, along with a luxury championship 18-hole golf course. Old Chatham is a player's course maintained to championship standards, along with the clubhouse, which was designed with the sensibility of a fine private estate to embody elegance and comfort.
President, Allen Wilson had this to say about the event, "Looking back over our first 10 years, I think the Club has done a fantastic job of delivering on the vision of the Founding Board of Directors. Their vision of creating a golf retreat, which when combined with one of a kind service, gives our members and their guests a unique golfing experience every time they pass through our gates. I know I speak for our current Board when I say we are looking forward to the challenge of continuing to deliver and improve on that vision over the next ten years."
About Old Chatham Golf Club
Established in 2001, Old Chatham was a vision of Triangle area business leaders. Their dream of a golf course central to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, yet tucked away from the region's rapid growth, became a reality. Offering 400 acres of rolling hills rich in native pines and oaks and just minutes from the I-40 corridor, Old Chatham is unlike any golf course in the Triangle.
Designed by the renowned golf course architect, Rees Jones, the idea behind the Club is to let nature define it. The lines from tee to green remain very similar to what they were before ground was ever broken. This provides members and guests a place to escape to the tranquility of an uncrowded retreat, characterized by one-of-a-kind hospitality with an emphasis on quality and comfort.
