Industry in the United States uses millions of gallons of water per day. The USGS Water Science School estimated industrial use at 18,200 million gallons every day. Most water use by industry is fresh water and if it is cleaned properly it can be used more times rather than depleting the water supply. Treatment of wastewater has become a major environmental concern because it is important to get the most from any natural resource.
Sewage wastewater treatment gives businesses and people access to clean water for all of their daily use. The water usage worldwide has caused some serious concerns in the environmental community. The EPA is responsible for regulating natural resources and pollutants to keep the people safe and protecting the supply of clean water. Oily water treatment is a common concern with industrial and sewage water and the traditional dissolved air flotation method is older and less effective than newer methods. Oil and water separators are used in water treatment and the new Suspended Air Flotation method has been turning heads.
Suspended Air Flotation was developed by Heron Innovators and it is a very cost effective way of treating water. It uses bubbles at a lower pressure than the DAF method and the additional components typically cost less than DAF treatment. This method keeps solids and waste in water together and makes it easier to skim off of the top of industrial water or sewage. Other methods usually require and operator while the SAF treatment is automatic.
