OGPL enters into a joint venture with Japan-based Nishi-Nippon Environmental Energy Co., Inc. to execute a poultry litter-based power generation project
Orient Green Power Company Limited (OGPL), a leading independent renewable energy-based power generation company in India, has entered into a joint venture with Japan-based Nishi-Nippon Environmental Energy Co., Inc. (NEECO) to set up a 7.5 MW poultry litter based power generation project in Namakkal District of Tamil Nadu.
- (1888PressRelease) August 19, 2010 - The joint venture company will be called Orient Eco Energy Limited (OEEL), and OGPL and NEECO will hold 60% and 40% stakes, respectively.
Commenting on the Joint Venture, Mr. T. Shivaraman, Vice Chairman of OGPL, said:
"We are very pleased to partner with NEECO as we seek to grow our renewable energy business in India. There is a shortage of generation capacity in India and we feel that renewable energy offers exciting solutions to the domestic power sector.
