Offset Green publicizes First Carbon Sequestering Afforestation Project
Offset Green & GEOC announces that they will be providing the 5000 Okanese hybrid poplar trees for the 10 acres carbon capture afforestation project to Global Emissions Offset Corp. to be presented to Kehewin First Nations.
- Albany, GA (1888PressRelease) January 16, 2013 - The Kehewin First Nations recognize the worth of projects that are sustainable of this nature and scale. Aside from that, they have been part of the earth and the connection is both deep and spiritual. The project is a way in order to facilitate the worldwide reduction of carbon dioxide as well as providing a renewable future. The afforestation project covers 10 acres of marginal land area with 5000 Okanese hybrid poplar. It will have an immediate benefit to the Kehewin First Nations as well as having an instant social interaction and connection with the project.
The trees will capture carbon dioxide starting from day one so that it will instantly benefit the environment. "We are exceedingly thrilled to start the afforestation project. We started to prepare the seed stock trees and are growing them in our nurseries to launch and it is great that the first project will be started. The trees will help reduce the carbon dioxide levels in the environment," stated Merv Carlson of Offset Green.
The afforestation is basically a visual project and nothing can be compared to see a new forest growing up in a fast manner. The project provides immediate benefits that are far beyond the reduction of carbon. It also facilitates wildlife such as birds to prosper in the new forests, which was previously marginal land that was not used that cannot serve as an animal habitat. With the afforestation project, this useless land can provide benefits to the wildlife. The new forests are specifically designed to help and coexist with the present wildlife and landscape. The project only requires 10 acres yet it provides a lot of benefits. Both instant and long-term benefits can be gained by different wildlife such as birds, rabbits, foxes, deer and small game.
The afforestation project is currently on the way and the planting will start on May 2013. Substantial gratitude is given to the Kehewin First Nations People due to their unswerving commitment to the environment as well as the inviting of others to be part of the project through participation and development through the offset purchases.
