  • (1888PressRelease) November 06, 2015 - According to recruitment software provider, Recruitive, October saw a 2.20% increase in the average salary compared to September, which had also seen a significant increase from the previous month.

These statistics support official figures which show that the average pay across the economy increased by just under 3%, when comparing May to July, with the same period a year earlier. The Office for National Statistics has said that this is the fastest pace of wage growth for more than six years, even before the minimum wage hike planned by the chancellor.

Recruitive's Operations Director, Carla Fern, comments; "Over the last couple of months we have seen a significant increase in the average salary for the millions of vacancies advertised via our multi job posting software. It's great to see that UK workers are finally getting the rise that has been so long awaited."

Carla continues; "Since July this year we have also seen a 10% decrease in the number of vacancies advertised without a specified salary which would suggest that the market is starting to return to favour the job seeker. Previous tough economic conditions meant that employers had less of a need to provide salary details in order to attract a large number of applicants, and by not stating a salary, they had the power to negotiate depending upon the candidates experience and current wage."
