Oaxaca FilmFest Record Year
After a record year in 2018, Oaxaca FilmFest starts to work on its 10th Edition.

Oaxaca FilmFest recently closed the 2018 Edition and confirms its full growth and the enthusiasm of people participating, and already opened its call for entries for the next Edition.
Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca. With more than 6000 local attendees and almost a thousand participants coming to Oaxaca to take part in the event, the economic impact is over 28 MDP.
During this 9th consecutive year of activities for the community, Oaxaca FilmFest went to schools with a children Program, to high schools and universities with an Academic Exchange. Children and young people had the opoortunity to enjoy Cinema, Mexican Premieres and young students had a chance to talk directly with the directors.
More than 200 foreign students came to attend, adding to that Cinema Schools from Mexico City, Chiapas, Monterrey and Oaxaca. They participated to the Young Industry Program and the Film Rally held by the Facultad de Cine and the Oaxacan School 100 Volando.
The Foundations, once again, were a great success with special screenings during the Festival, they were able to share their valuable work with other segments of the community.
A special mention goes to "Tiempo de Lluvia" by the Oaxacan director Itandehui Jansen, her Ópera Prima, she won Best Emerence Film. We can also highlight the participation of "Tierra de Mezcales", produced independently by students of the Universidad Popular Autónoma del Estado de Puebla (UPAEP).
Oaxaca FilmFest is one of the most important Film Festivals in Mexico, he is attracting every year directors, producers, screenwriters from Mexico and all over the planet to participate in its activities. Big production companies, national and international distributors come to Oaxaca looking for new talents, projects and exchange. And while the Festival is now self-sufficient, this would not be possible without the collaboration of the artists, the industry and public and private Institututions of Oaxaca such as the Ayuntamiento of Oaxaca, Seculta, Canacine, RedMexFest, Imcine and Cinépolis among others.
