Aimed at fostering the hopes and dreams of children living with serious illnesses, the successful campaign was launched on November 8th and encouraged Facebook users to be part of the process. By simply "Liking" the Belmont Terrace Facebook page, users were promised that for each new "thumbs up" the Belmont Terrace page received by November 30, 2010, O'Brien Homes would donate five dollars to The Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation®, allowing users the chance to help grant the wishes of these young individuals with only the simple click of their mouse.
After 22 days of generous participation from Facebook members, the campaign came to a triumphant end on November 30, 2010, and it was clear that the compassion of participants had made an impression. What started as only 35 "Likes" on the Belmont Terrace Facebook page soon increased to an impressive 463 "Likes," generating over $2,140 for children with life-threatening medical conditions in the local community. O'Brien Homes will donate the raised funds to The Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation®, where they will serve to provide hope, strength and joy to deserving children thanks to the generosity of charitable Facebook users.
