Nytro to Release Debut CD on October 31, 2013
St. Louis based living room metal band, Nytro, is releasing its debut CD on Halloween. Long time friends who played music as children collaborated to make a professional music CD after 39 years of friendship.
- St. Louis, MO-IL (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2013 - Lifelong friends Rod Weygant and Mark Williams started recording songs when they were 12 and 10 years old, respectively. In 1977 they used a tape recorder, boxes and trash can lids for drums and one guitar and amp. Before they even knew how to tune a guitar they started recording their own songs. In their childhood they made over 100 cassettes of original material.
After serving a term in the Army and Navy, both friends moved back to St. Charles County in the late 80's and in 1989 started recording again. At first using a stereo, then an analog 4 track machine and eventually a computer based recording system. Similar to a real life Tenacious D, they are two middle age guys who love music and have been friends since 1976. "We never practiced our songs. We wrote them, recorded them and then moved on" said Williams.
Now after almost forty years the friends, along with drummer Dennis Gage, recorded a CD at Firebrand Studios in St. Louis. "Some Things Never Change" will be released October 31, 2013. The CD will be available at all major outlets including Amazon.com and Itunes. "It is a combination of a 70's hard rock feel and a classic heavy metal sound" said Weygant during a recent interview.
"We hope to be an inspiration to anyone who ever dreamed of doing something all their life. Just do it!" said Williams. Nytro is based in St. Louis Missouri.
