NYT Best-Selling Author, “Saved By The Bell” Star, Isaac Lidsky, Shares How He Overcame the Challenges of Blindness on “The Confidence Connection"
Lidsky Discusses His Descent Into Blindness While en Route to Becoming a Distinguished Entrepreneur, Philanthropist, Lawyer and Father.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) August 05, 2020 - In a compelling episode of “The Confidence Connection with Suzanne Sena,” scheduled to be released Wednesday, August 5, 2020, Emmy-nominated TV host and journalist, Suzanne Sena, interviews Isaac Lidsky. Known as Weasel from NBC-TV’s “Saved By The Bell,” Lidsky shares how he went from network sitcom star, the first blind U.S. Supreme Court law clerk working for the legendary Ruth Bader Ginsburg and eventually became a lawyer, entrepreneur to New York Times best-selling author. The now visionary and thought leader on perception, Lidky’s interview will be available on Apple Podcasts and all major podcast platforms.
Despite descending into complete blindness by the time he was 25, Lidsky flourished in front of a camera, graduated from Harvard Law School, never lost an appeals case and became an entrepreneur who sold his company for a whopping $230M. Lidksy also founded Hope For Vision, a nonprofit organization, and within five years, raised over $5 million for people like him. In the podcast episode, Lidsky provides insight into how people’s misconceptions about his disability became an inspiration for him to educate others. The two discuss Lidsky’s New York Times best-seller, “Eyes Wide Open,” in which he uses his life narrative as a case study to demonstrate how external circumstances aren’t what govern our reality.
"You only get the ride once,” says Lidsky. “You are the only person who can control the circumstances in which you find yourself; and how they manifest in your experience of life. Start with the experience you want, and what's important to you, then construct your reality accordingly."
“Isaac is a true inspiration,” says Sena. “He doesn’t sugarcoat things. His honesty and vulnerability come through, and I think right now we could all use a reminder of how challenges can be overcome, no matter how difficult .”
