NYIT Amman Graduates Class of 2011
Under the patronage and presence of President of its mother university in the United States Dr Edward Guiliano, New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) - Amman celebrated the graduation of its 10th Class of Master Degree and BSc holders.
- Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY (1888PressRelease) June 16, 2011 - Participating in the celebration in the Dead Sea Convention Center was NYIT Executive Chairman in the Middle East Dr Mohamed Hussein, Board of Trustees Chairperson Linda Davila, Jordan University of Science and Technology President Dr Abdallah Malkawi, vice presidents and deans of departments and leading academic figures and parents of graduates for the 2010/2011 academic year.
Dr Guiliano welcomed guests, parents and friends, saying he is very happy to see them with the graduating students in this ceremony that is the culmination of years of hard work.
He said: "I am proud to be participating with you on this auspicious occasion, expressing my happiness in graduating a new batch of students who will join the thousands of graduate cadres of previous classes who have taken their positions in the labor market to serve society and carry its responsibilities."
Dr Guiliano praised the university and its continuous efforts to raise academic standards and constant care to modernize its educational programs in accordance with the demands of the labor market and that of the Arab labor markets with cadres able to serve them and society.
He added: "The management of the university, which is non-profit organization and one of the biggest academic institutions in the world takes upon itself to build the best modern sciences and to produce cadres that have high degree of professionalism and work."
Dr Mohamed Hussein congratulated the parents of the students, who are graduating from one of the leading universities in the world, saying: "Allow me to present heartfelt congratulations, and warmest feelings and words to our students who brought joy and happiness to our hearts. I commend their success and praise their performance, and beseech God to guide their steps and rise with their country and nation".
The total number of students who graduated this year is 250 completing the requirements for the Master Degree and Bsc from different schools in NYIT-Amman, and in different specialties.
Dr Hussein emphasized the importance of investing in what he termed as "youthful energy" and strengthening their skills, as well as enhancing their role in the different walks of life. He pointed to the efforts of the University administration to create programs to achieve the goals and aspirations of young people, on the one hand, while fulfilling the needs of the coming period on the other.
The graduation ceremony included creative art shows, and was concluded with the distribution of the degrees' certificates to the graduates, and honoring a number of the Board of Trustees, professors and distinguished students.
NYIT is a nonprofit educational institution founded in 2001, in accordance with an agreement with the University of Science and Technology. The university has three colleges, offering different courses including in Public Administration, Computer Science and Engineering and Fine Arts.
