NTHC Announces Their Financial Education Coaching Program (FEC) To Provide Free Financial Workshops

(1888PressRelease) November 11, 2011 - Dallas, Texas - NTHC will hold these workshops on the third Saturday of every month from 9 AM to 2 PM.

The North Texas Housing Coalition, Inc (NTHC) is a non-profit 501(c) (3) HUD-certified counseling agency and a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) which provides affordable housing solutions. NTHC encompasses a 16 country region who works to educate North Texas homebuyers through the Homeownership Center of North Texas (THC).

NTHC is pleased to announce the formation of their Financial Education Coaching program (FEC) to provide free community-wide financial workshops. These workshops will held throughout all the 16 regions that encompasses by NTHC and will focus on budgeting, the importance of establishing banking relationships, and the critical need for reducing debt and managing credit responsibly. This program will consist of instructor led classes, group counseling, and one-on-one certified housing counseling services.

In this program, every participant will be taught various skills including how to develop a monthly budget, build a personal savings account, how to buy a home that is affordable and improving financial stability. They will help the participants to complete a Financial Empowerment Plan that will map out short-term and long-term savings goals. This 9 month challenging program workshops will remain open on the third Saturday of every month from 9 AM until 2 PM. Reservation line is open.

Albert Martin, Executive Director, of North Texas Housing Coalition says, "The word 'Budget' is considered as a bad word for lots of people, but the reality is that there is no better way to control debt or prevent debt than with a workable budget."

In North Texas, NTHC is offering services to low-to-moderate income housing or working class (WC) families. They are comprised of both public and private sector partners, such as developers and builders, lenders, mortgage & banking communities and various other associations.
