Novotel Toronto North York Supports Heart and Stroke Foundation with Big Bike Ride Fundraiser Events.
- (1888PressRelease) June 09, 2011 - TORONTO, Ontario - Novotel, which offers a high standard of attentive service at seven hotels in Canada and nearly 400 around the world, continues to affirm its commitment towards its community. Novotel Toronto North York will again support the Heart and Stroke Foundation by hosting two Big Bike Ride events on Thursday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 22.
The Big Bike Ride is one of the Heart and Stroke Foundation's major fundraising events. The team event encourages organizations, companies and groups to participate and raise money for the charity. Teams made up of 29 riders and one driver (provided by the Heart and Stroke Foundation) pedal through over 200 communities, across nine provinces in Canada, raising funds along the way. Last year, the organization raised over $7 million for research thanks to more than 40,000 riders who got involved in the event.
Novotel Toronto North York has hosted and sponsored the Big Bike event in North York for the past four years. Each year, they have hosted the event registration and provided refreshments for participants all day. Most recently, Novotel Toronto North York hosted the May 10 Big Bike event which raised more than $14,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
"It is a great community event, and we are excited to welcome the more than 400 participants on June 9 and June 22 as they support this great cause," said Michael Singer, general manager of Novotel Toronto North York. "We hope these events will raise even more money to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation's critical research that will improve the lives of not only heart and stroke patients, but of all Canadians."
