Handy Backup Server 6.9 features:
- Client-server scheme for control of corporate data backup from a central server, with minimal system resources consumption and invisibly for users of remote workstations (in the Windows service mode);
- Synchronization of network computers between one another and with FTP/SFTP servers;
- Automated backup with flexible time- and event-oriented settings;
- Data recovery on any workstation by a command from a central server.
All backup tasks are generated on and controlled from a central server requiring no assistance of a PC user whose data are backed up.
The new version presents optimized algorithms for backup of database (MS SQL, Oracle, FoxPro, MS Access, and others). As soon as the backup schedule and type (full, incremental, or differential) are specified, databases and all the corresponding components (forms, indices, procedures, triggers, etc.) are automatically sought for and copied, even if the user performing backup does not have administrator access rights for the databases.
Handy Backup Server 6.9 provides refined integration with online backup service. The preliminary creation of an online service account is no longer required for getting an opportunity to use online backup options. Remote data backup can now be performed from the Handy Backup Server interface. When an online backup task is launched this way, a 10-day trial online service account is automatically created. The account provides means of seeing detailed backup statistics (capacity, date, time, etc.) and managing the backed up data via online interface.
Handy Backup Server 6.9 is integrated with Handy Backup Disaster Recovery. Earlier this year Novosoft released Handy Backup Disaster Recovery as a standalone product sharing the concepts and architecture of the original Handy Backup. The program features creation of USB and Flash recovery drives to load operation system from (regardless of what the main operation system is). The software has the options both of making a disk image of the entire HDD and backing up and restoring any of the hard drive partitions. The functionality of Disaster Recovery got integrated into Handy Backup Server 6.9 with several notable improvements (particularly, the speed of transferring data to a USB stick was significantly improved).
